Renewable Polymers on the Rise

At the Renewable Materials Conference, 23-25 May in Siegburg/Cologne, 21 speakers will present and discuss the latest developments and market launches of renewable polymers, mainly from biomass and some from CO2. Polymers are the largest product group in the chemical industry, and today more than 90% of them are based on fossil carbon. 

To replace this fossil carbon, all options of bio-based polymers are in demand: drop-in solutions, production of known polymers with alternative feedstocks and processes, as well as completely new polymers not produced by the petrochemical industry. Biodegradability in different environments is also an additional option that several bio-based polymers can offer. When will it pay off?
