A new partnership between eBay and This is Beauty has brought together a limited-edition advent calendar. This calendar is sold at £49.99 and it includes twenty-four premium beauty products that are collectively worth more than £250.

It was decided early on that 100% of the proceeds would go directly to the Hygiene Bank, which is a charity that is dedicated to ending hygiene poverty throughout the UK.

The final product makes it clear that throughout the advent calendar’s development, both companies worked hard to ensure that the core values of sustainability and community impact were present during the full process.

These core values are shown in the sustainable sourcing methods the company chose to use, they are also present in their aim to ‘give back’ through the advent calendar and finally, they can also be seen in the choice to use an eco-friendly design.

When it comes to sustainable sourcing, both companies made sure that all the products were sourced from surplus stocks which were only intended for landfill. Doing this highlighted their commitment to reducing waste within the beauty industry.

Furthermore, the idea of ‘giving back’ is where The Hygiene Bank comes in, as every purchase directly supports this bank. This support was also provided by giving essential items like soap, toothpaste and shampoo to those in need.

Finally, the companies kept the design eco-friendly by only manufacturing the advent calendar in the UK and only using FSC-certified, responsibly sourced material. On top of this, eBay and This is Beauty made sure that the calendar is fully recyclable.
